The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Tallahatchie and other counties, to be in effect from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Northwest winds of 25 mph, with gusts to 35 mph, are expected.
Portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri and West Tennessee are in the advisory area.
Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and tree limbs could be blown down with a few power outages.
Winds also can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
In Mississippi, the affected areas include Coahoma, DeSoto, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate and Tunica counties.
NWS advises that the strong winds will be the result of a cold front moving through the Mid-South that will bring the coldest morning lows yet this fall.
Lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s may necessitate a Frost Advisory as early as Halloween morning, the NWS noted.
In Tallahatchie County, NWS said Tuesday morning that the low temperatures are forecast at 46 degrees Tuesday night, 43 degrees Wednesday night, 38 degrees Thursday night, 41 degrees Friday night, 42 degrees Saturday night and 44 degrees Sunday night.
