WEBB — As part of the West Tallahatchie Community Schools Initiative, West Tallahatchie High School boys basketball head coach Corey Grayson organized and led a three-day Youth Basketball Camp that was held from 9-11 a.m. each day at the school.
The camp was a tremendous success, averaging 32 participants ranging in age from 6 to 14 years old.
Throughout the camp, students engaged in skill-building activities and friendly competition while learning fundamental basketball techniques, with a special emphasis on dribbling and ball-handling drills.
The camp provided a positive environment where youth could develop athletic skills, build confidence, and practice teamwork and sportsmanship.
The success of the camp was made possible through the support of coaches Raven and Roderick Hawkins, who volunteered their time and expertise to work with the participants. Their leadership and encouragement helped create an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all involved.
This event exemplified the Community Schools mission of providing meaningful enrichment opportunities that engage students, strengthen community partnerships and promote positive youth development.
