John Provis, 84, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on May 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in the small village of Swinden, England, John was the youngest of five children born to George and Evelyn Provis. In 1949, John and his family journeyed to America aboard the historic RMS Queen Mary, beginning a new chapter that would shape the rest of his life. He proudly became a United States citizen in 1975.

Wyvis Burrell Hester, 82, of Louisville, Mississippi, formerly of Sallis, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, surrounded by her loving family.
Wyvis was born on January 17, 1944, to John Thaddeus Burrell and Eva Maria Burrell in Sallis. She married Bobby Floyce Hester on June 30, 1967. They had three beloved children: Johnny, Robert, and Cindy. Wyvis retired as a Deputy Clerk of the Attala County Chancery Court with over 37 years of service.

Earlene Johnson McBride, affectionately known as “Nanaw” to many of those who loved her, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2026, at the age of 78. Waiting to welcome her at Heaven’s gates was her beloved husband, Gary Leigh McBride, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a foundation of love and faith that will continue to guide their family for generations.
