On Saturday, December 6, Rubin Weeks, an inmate with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, died. Weeks, 63, was arrested April 29, for the 1986 abduction, rape, and murder of Shondra May. The cause of death is unknown at this time, but there was no foul play suspected. The MS Bureau of Investigations is handling the case due to Weeks death in custody.

Christmas Carnival on Main will be held Friday, December 5, 2025 from 5:30-7:30 pm.
The event will include a visit with Santa, sleigh rides, pirate ship, games, balloon artist, train ride, face painting, camel rides, a ferris wheel and popcorn.
Visitors are invited to shop with Christmas Market vendors and food trucks.
