Destination Transformation recognized four students for improving their grades in English and math during an event held April 11, 2026, at the Youth Improvement Center.
Twenty students attended the event, including 10 students from Dumas and 10 from Marvel. Each student received $100 in recognition of academic improvement.

The Jericho Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its pastor and first lady on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 2:30 p.m.
Honorees will be Rev. and Mrs. Isaac Parks Sr. Rev. Terry I. Harris Sr., senior pastor of New Jerusalem Preparations and Worship Center, will deliver the anniversary sermon.
A revival will be held June 29 through July 1, 2026. Praise, meditation, and prayer service will be held nightly from 6 to 6:45 p.m., with revival services beginning at 7 p.m. each evening. The evangelist for the revival will be Rev. Terry I. Harris Sr.

The minutes of the March meeting were approved as mailed. JP 2, G. Lynn Weatherford made a motion to approve minutes of the March meeting as mailed , and seconded by JP 8, Dollie Wilson. All members voted in favor. Motion carried.
JP 5, Hollis Mankins made a motion to approve the Treasurer's Report and seconded by JP 6, Ken Holt. All members voted in favor. Motion carried.

Widows Empowering Widows and Reaching Others will host the grand opening of the G.W. Nash Music Event Center on May 30, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The event will feature a tour of the building, scripture reading, a remembrance of the late Mary Beebe and viewing of Dumas history, and dinner and music with Rodney Block. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to RSVP by calling Lydia Davis at 870-656-4072.

It may be no surprise that the editor of the conservative National Review wrote a column headlined, “The Democratic Party continues to misread America.” But the lead paragraph of Ramesh Ponnuru’s essay perfectly explains why that headline is spot-on accurate.
