For awareness during the month of May, we are recognizing skin cancer/melanoma with a black ribbon, brain cancer/tumors with a gray ribbon, and bladder cancer with a marigold blue and purple ribbon.
For skin cancer, we focus on signs, safety and detection of melanoma. Brain cancer represents gray matter and supports research for tumors. Bladder cancer is one of the most common cancers, according to the American Cancer Society.
A world without cancer is possible. Help us turn lab breakthroughs into lifesaving realities by donating to Rally for a Cure and the American Cancer Society.
As you know, the ice storm delayed us from having our Rally for a Cure in April. We pray all is better with everyone. This year‘s Rally is now set for Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., at the old National Guard armory in Charleston.
Rally T-shirts may be purchased for $25 from any board member now until June 5.
Donations can be sent to Rally for a Cure, P.O. Box 971, Charleston, MS 38921.
You may contact Brenda Willis at 662-752-9267 or Myrtle Jordan at 662-647-1784.
The Rally will consist of a live auction and a silent auction, a sweet shop, a cakewalk, health care tables where blood pressure, etc., will be checked. Delmont Wings and Things food truck will be set up with food and drinks to purchase. Some of the proceeds from the food truck will be donated to our organization.
Watch for more updates about Rally for a Cure to be forthcoming.
This county has been hit really hard with cancer in the last year. Our organization has helped many, because of donors like you. We want to thank each and every one who donates to our organization. Please continue your donations, because without you, we could not continue to help the people in our community.
Words of encouragement: “He sent out his word and healed them; He rescued them from the grave.” ~Psalm 107:20
This scripture reminds us of God‘s ability to heal and restore, offering hope in the midst of it all. Always remember, God‘s Word brings healing and deliverance. That is the mercy and boundless love of God.
