Warm and pleasant greetings. We hope you are enjoying a good week as the month of April ends.
After a few weeks into spring, the weather was uncertain some days, with temperatures below or above average. However, as usual, we adjust and move right along getting things accomplished. Now that spring is here, some of us have the energy to do some things we thought we would do then.
I’m trying to keep my beautiful potted impatiens plant my friend presented to me for my birthday, or maybe she said it was to make me feel better. It’s still beautiful, of course. I have not decided to replant outside yet.
Now there are a few things on the let go, put away or maybe trash list. Some things we must keep for memories as long as we can enjoy them, while in the “back of our minds” hoping the children or someone will keep them beyond us for generations coming on. I’m getting better about letting go, but I was never one to keep holding and reaccumulating. Saying all of this, I’ve got some random crap that needs to go!
We all have some days more challenging than others, but with family, friends and neighbors, we connect so at the end of day it’s all good.
Please know if we greeted you when we went out and about how you made the day. It’s such a pleasurable blessing seeing you!
May is Older Americans Month (OAM). In 1963, OAM was established as “Senior Citizens Month.” In 1965, it was changed to Older Americans Month.
The 2025 theme is “Flip the Script on Aging.” This focuses on transforming how society perceives, talks about and approaches age.
Individuals and communities are challenged to overcome stereotypes and misconceptions. As older individuals, we all want to contribute, explore opportunities for staying active and engage as we age. We still have a purpose and connection that comes with age.
Enjoy life today. Be blessed.
