Warm and pleasant greetings from our community to yours. We hope you are enjoying a good week and things are well with you and your family.
The hot weather has kept many people inside with the comfort of air conditioning. You may have had time to catch up with some sleeping.
I listened to Dr. Daren Sutton on the news one morning last week as he explained what sleep inertia is and practical ways to fight off morning grogginess. Sleep inertia is the feeling of grogginess, disorientation, drowsiness and cognitive impairment that immediately follows waking. Sleep inertia generally lasts for 15 to 60 minutes.
Dr. Sutton listed ways to adjust your lifestyle if you have sleep inertia, (uh-nur-schuh). Of course, if your sleeping habits are questionable, you may need to consult a health care professional.
It is good to get a good night’s sleep before midnight, as it may benefit your health and beauty.
Are your sheets still damp and balled up when you open your dryer when the signal cycle ends?
Try shaking the sheets before throwing them in the dryer. Toss a dryer ball or tennis ball along with a sheet. Use a lower heat setting.
Don’t dry too many sheets at a time. Sheets will need space to tumble.
Avoid fabric softener and bleach as they damage fabric fibers and reduce absorbency. Add a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle to soften cotton. Sheets have a care label, but over time we overlook the care label.
The Blue Cane Little Hubbard community sends congratulations and best wishes to the 2025 National Charleston Day Organization on its 51st reunion gathering on Labor Day weekend in Memphis. Safe traveling for all and have a memorable time as you celebrate your mission and reminisce. We love seeing pictures!
Our concerns and care are shared for those who may be experiencing some difficult challenges from time to time. Know others care.
Wishing you all a happy Labor Day weekend. Take time to relax and recharge.
Enjoy life today. Be blessed.
