Warm and pleasant greetings to all. We hope you are enjoying a good week.
Residents in the Blue Cane community are happy to see work being done on West Blue Cane Road, just off Highway 32 West. County road workers are doing a good job surfacing a portion of the way with white gravel. The driving is much smoother and less dusty. Perhaps the road is yet as susceptible to potholes and ruts as any road.
Drivers may need to adjust their speed and driving habits to get used to the new roadway.
We don’t want drivers to feel overly confident driving on the new road. We want to keep our roads in good condition and safe.
Although we hope the entire community will be surfaced, there is an abundance of gratitude for the progress already made. Thanks to supervisor Echols.

We appreciate friendly neighbors and friends. We enjoyed fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes and cucumbers, making for the best pasta salad and another BLT, of course.
I like pasta salad and make it fairly often for myself, but this time someone else enjoyed it, too. I’ll share a point or three with you.
For a good pasta salad, there are a few mistakes to avoid: Overcooking the pasta, not salting the water, dressing the salad too early and maybe using the wrong pasta shape.
My favorite pasta for salad is plain spaghetti. The short and rigid pasta shapes are good choices. Rotina, bow tie, shell and the like have the ability to hold onto the dressing and other ingredients. The nooks and surface give places for the sauce and other ingredients to cling.
Add to the pasta salad what vegetables you have or like, such as celery, carrot, bell pepper and onion. Every bite is delicious!
Cucumber is my favorite vegetable for the juicer, adding other fruits and vegetables such as pineapple, ginger, apples, peaches and beets.
Every sip is delicious!
