December is here!
Warm and pleasant greetings to all. We hope you are enjoying a good week. Joy and gladness are overflowing as the spirit of Christmas fills our minds and hearts of the very thought of Yuletide Season.
Stay relaxed and organized as you plan and prepare for the holidays. Much to be done before the day gets here. Let’s keep our prayers filled with praise and thanks.
As we enter the last month of this year, our reflections are many and so are overflowing blessings. Let’s not forget families and individuals, including our own, being aware of others as we think about health and wellness, resources, heritage, history, education and much, much more. Many families will celebrate the first time without a loved one.
As Christians, our faith will lead us to celebrate the birth of Christ and the subsequent years He actually walked on earth among men! Let us be reminded as we enjoy the festivities of this blessed holiday.
While getting canned and packaged foods on hand and shifting items around on the shelf, you may find expiration dates are past. Most important to know is that the expiration date on canned goods is primarily for quality, not safety.
Foods will lose some nutritional value and color. The main factor to remember is to always discard bulging, dented, leaking or rusted cans due to there being a risk of botulism (food poisoning) with damaged cans.
It was a cordial Saturday for the ACS Rally for a Cure Bake Sale. My pleasure is seeing board members helping and thanking those stopping by. The attractive products looked delicious and were constantly being selected. Many thanks for your support in any way.
Blue Cane Church presented its first veteran’s program on Sunday, Nov. 17, honoring its members and recognizing other visiting veterans in attendance. Senior veterans honored were Deacons Dave Carter and Joseph Wilson, both of whom served during the Vietnam War, and Carter also during Desert Storm. Some others who were honored were Takiyah Wilson, Jakobe Williams and Emily Davis and Leonard Todd.
Enjoy life today. Be blessed.
