Happy New Year!
Warm and pleasant greetings from our community to yours. No longer alive is 2025, so we’ve got this for 2026.
We have learned a lot, believe it or not. As we begin the new year, I am grateful for the privilege to write the Blue Cane Little Hubbard News article. It’s not always about the community, per se, mostly because the community organization is no longer active. When the group would gather each month, happy to greet and sometimes eat (brunch), we shared family and community notes.
Thank you for scanning (reading) this column. If you have been reading for years or just discovered this article, we’re glad you did.
Every article has its purpose. Together we know more about our community and Tallahatchie County. Let us know if you have something to share. Our congratulations to our chief editor and manager, the McFerrins, who get the weekly Sun-Sentinel news out to various locations to reach the clientele.
Residents are appreciative of the William Lodge #77 who prepared fruit trays to share with senior residents on Christmas Eve. Thanks to Dave Carter, lodge member, who delivered trays in this community and wished each family a joyous holiday.
Blue Cane M.B. Church family and Pastor Clint Brown, joined by Mount Olive M.B. church, shared its annual “Watch Night” meeting as always, keeping the legacy of their ancestors. At midnight, with a new year’s prayer (and refreshments), the congregation fellowshipped while welcoming in 2026.
We always invite others to attend Sunday School classes and church services. It is our hope that you are or will become a regular attendee of Bible study.
We are in the middle of the Sunday School winter (13) sessions quarter. These lessons highlight the essential teaching of the Bible in relation to defining elements of Christian faith. Welcome to church and community. It doesn’t matter your story, your background, where you are in your faith, you are welcome. Christian believers who come together can grow in grace.
We hope the new year brings you lots of good things. Lets not keep scores, just keep thankful hearts, and minds, so our communities can stay loyal, healthy and safe.
Enjoy today’s blessings.
