Warm and pleasant greetings to you. We hope you are enjoying a good week.
I was thinking of the song our choir would often sing. It’s been several years ago; actually, it’s been many years ago, so it’s what we call an old song. “Does Jesus Care/Yes My Jesus Cares,” was one song the choir sang that the congregation enjoyed. The chorus ends with “Yes, I know my Jesus cares.” As I hummed the song many times last week, I felt a spiritual confirmation from receiving some personal messages.
A letter was in the mail from a precious lady who lives in Oakland. She was impressed with the article, reading The Sun–Sentinel for the first time.
A sweet and inspiring conversation with a former church member, whom we admire, called to check in with us. She reminisced and testified how her life has become, witnessing God’s goodness. We appreciate her occasional calls.
One of our son’s classmates, who was home visiting his parents, came by to see us, as always.
All this for one day was a warm, inspiring day.
Another visit was with two sisters from a nearby community who stopped by on their way to church. It’s just to say we had another good week.
We have special people, church members and neighbors, who will check in with us anytime during the week. I am sure you have, too. How wonderfully blessed we all are. We all appreciate having others in our life who care.
Some friends stopped in, with one having a beautiful butterfly on his shirt. Seemingly, it didn’t want to fly away as the other mentioned the butterfly. We all took notice of the beautiful butterfly! One made a statement that I had not heard before about butterflies landing on a person. When a butterfly lights on an individual, this signifies it brings a special and significant blessing to the individual. I thought of my sister, who has always collected butterfly pins. Anytime you meet her, she’s gracefully wearing a butterfly pin and this may be the reason. I believe it’s because she just loves butterflies and is overwhelmed when one happens to light on her!
Grandparents Day reminded me to open my beautiful Grandparents Legacy Book, given to me by my daughter when her son was a year old. My friend Anita mentioned to me about her legacy book. Her book, by request, should be ready for her child’s birthday. Actually, that’s what started me remembering that I needed to start back recording in mine. How far I had gotten into the 190 pages forced me to bring my pencil and book together and see what would happen. Hopefully, the book will be ready for grandson Ethan by his high school graduation in May!
It’s not too late to plant your leafy greens for the fall. Specialists say leafy greens like kale, spinach, lettuce, arugula, collards and mustard thrive in the cool fall weather.
Enjoy life today. Be blessed.
