Warm and pleasant greetings to all. We hope you are enjoy a good week and things are going well with your family.
Our community is heartbroken with news of our neighbor Marilyn McIntyre’s car accident on last Monday. She passed away in the hospital the same day.
Our community will long remember Marilyn was friendly, kindhearted, caring and selfless. She was well known in the community and perhaps knew most families in her neighborhood. Lest we forget her family, church family and friends, as well as others, let us continue in our daily lives showing compassion and remembering others when we pray.
We have a few more weeks of summertime to enjoy. Perhaps many are thinking about one more big holiday to celebrate with family and friends. Our immediate family enjoyed guests a few times together this summer.
Leslie and grandson Ethan were in and out while Reginald was here. This comes to an end now that son Reginald’s home vacation has ended. Reginald will take a real vacation now and get ready for the classroom after Labor Day. Continue to enjoy the summer, everybody!
I read a Bible quote that said: “Church is not optional for your children. You make them go to school to be successful. Make them go to church so they may live.” OK. We did see that our children attended Sunday school and church services and they were never (made) asked or begged to go to school or church. It was just the right thing you were trained and expected to do. Parents, encourage your child to continue attending and participating in religious activities. This makes them even a better person.
Our good wishes to first-time college and university students and to returning students. The most exciting time is entering the first year, with new people, places and things. Students soon adjust and move right along. A few years later, the last year will become the most exciting.
Parents, please know you are doing a good job with your child because you are doing your very best.
Teachers, too, are dedicated to helping children learn important lessons in life. This is essential in developing successful adults. We are excited (perhaps more) to see grandson Ethan begin his first year at SUBR, Southern University at Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
All good wishes to students and parents for a wonderful and hopeful enriching experience. Stay safe and healthy.
Enjoy life.
