Warm and pleasant greetings to all. We hope you are enjoying a good week. May you have strength to do amazing things. As always, it’s nice to greet you when out and about.
Eva Covington’s children from Texas visited with her last week. Trena (Na Na) Covington came by to see us, as she most always does when she is back home. September is the month officially recognized as “Healthy Aging Month.” The 2026 theme is: “Curiosity has no Age Limit,” so as we age we want to ask more, learn more and live more. We mention healthy aging to give attention to its purpose for being created in 1992.
“Aging draws attention to the positive aspect of growing older and to encourage adults to take greater responsibility for their physical, mental, social and financial well-being,” says healthyaging.net. Labor Day is celebrated this weekend and many individuals are looking forward to maybe relaxing, or attending a gathering of some kind, or maybe be smart and do both.
Our community sends best wishes to the National Charleston Day Organization officers and members, hosted in Marietta, Georgia. Charles Chambers will preside at its 52nd annual reunion scheduled for Sept. 4-6. We hope you have a memorable experience as you mingle with friends, family and classmates. We, back home are waiting to hear the news when you return. Our best wishes to others who are celebrating reunions and special events with their families and friends.
