Charleston High School dominated the Wednesday, April 16, Super Region 1-2A track and field meet at Pontotoc High School, with both the girls and boys gaining their second championship trophies within five days.
The CHS squads also swept the region meet on April 11.
The Charleston ladies racked up 142 team points. Second-place finisher East Union Attendance Center had 127, third-place Calhoun City 90, fourth-place Water Valley 62 and fifth-place M.S. Palmer 30.
Charleston’s boys, who accumulated 208 team points, won by a margin of 120 points over second-place finisher Calhoun City, which had 88. Third-place M.S. Palmer had 83 points, fourth-place Water Valley 68 and fifth-place East Union Attendance Center 58.
Next up for both Charleston squads will be the Class 2A North State championships on April 26. The meet will be held in Winona.
In 2024, the CHS Lady Tigers won North State for a third straight year, while the Tigers finished second.
