Well, the temps keep soaring, and so does the excitement for our Gateway to the Delta Festival 2026! The music lineup is again stacked from top to bottom, and we are so excited to begin to release the names of these wonderful musicians who will keep you moving until 11 p.m. on Oct.10.
We are very pleased to have a hometown girl share her love of music and ministry to begin our music for the day. Glenda Brock Woods, a Charleston native who was nurtured music and ministry beginning at age 9, will share her testimony in song.
A graduate of Mississippi Valley State University and a member of The Mississippi Mass Choir, Woods left the school system after 29 years of teaching to pursue music and ministry full-time as a minister and gospel recording artist. Her projects, which include “God Wants to Speak to You,” “I’m Healed,” and “Yes He Did,” were recognized locally, nationally and internationally in the United Kingdom. More recent musical singles include “A Living Sacrifice” and “I’ve Learned to Lean On Jesus” have also been welcomed and released regionally for radio airplay. As a gifted writer, Woods did not stop at just writing music, and her first book entitled, “Still Born,” was released in 2023. She will grace the Gateway stage beginning at 11 that morning to share her passion and her music with all of us.
Once again, that Gateway planning team has so many new things up their sleeves to share with you this year. They have reworked Kids Zone, expanded vendor spots, and solicited the best food vendors. Mayor Smith is working on the car show and polishing his train to keep the young festivalgoers riding through Kids Zone in style.
And, did we mention that the Gateway Festival T-shirt and poster are finished! Oxford artist Pam Locke and ScreenCo of New Albany have again worked their magic to ensure that these pieces of art are once again beautiful representations of our festival.
