Members of the Charleston High School boys and girls track and field teams will compete in the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 2A Track and Field State Championships Tuesday (May 6) at the Woody Barnett Track and Field Complex at Pearl High School.
The Class 2A and Class 4A meet had been originally scheduled for this Friday but was postponed over weather concerns.
The Lady Tigers will be seeking a history-making third consecutive state title for the program. They twice have won back-to-back state titles, in 2023 and 2024 in Class 2A, and in 2012 and 2013 when the school was in Class 3A.
The CHS boys have never won a track and field state championship, but they twice have been state runners-up, in 2016 and 2004, and finished third in 2024, 2006, 2005 and 2003.
