Warm and pleasant greetings to all. We hope you are enjoying a good week.
Last week, our community woke up after midnight with no running water. However, by 10 a.m. Monday the system was on and back off again for a short time. Residents were pleased to have water on for service the same evening. A boil water alert was issued for cooking and drinking.
Many times, residents won’t get the “boil water alert” but, hopefully, residents know to boil water whenever the system has been off and turned back on for operating. It’s best always to boil water for drinking and cooking and brushing teeth.
I thought about an old proverb. Perhaps you, too, have heard the statement: Live and let live. The saying came to mind as I was mind pondering. The saying simply means you should tolerate the opinions and behavior of others so they will similarly tolerate your own. So, now, you can be tolerant or broadminded, accept, allow, ignore. So take life as it comes.
I thought it meant to share and not be jealous or interfere with others’ business. Individuals should be able to live their lives to their liking (pleasing to the Lord first). That’s my thinking.
Now with an uncertain economy and rising prices with gasoline, food and all sorts of supplies, we still mind ponder.
Instead of wining and dining, now we’re whining and dime-ing. We used to pump and pay at the gas station. Now we hear the statement pain at the pump, meaning price per gallon is higher, so it’s pay and pump.
I came across a couple of quilt tops that I never quilted and I won’t now, for sure. I would be pleased to give them away if someone wants them. One is the girl Dutch doll. The other is a plain patch. Call me at 662-647-2018. Both tops will fit a twin/full size bed.
Don’t know who reads the Old Farmer’s Almanac. I still like reading, especially the folklore section. I remember the once-a-year Almanac when growing up. The Almanac was always hanging over the calendar near the kitchen door for some specific references.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac for 2022 said this about the car color revealing the personality of the driver:
The color of your car says more about you than just personal preference. Accordingly, the information from 130,000 insurance claims reveal what car color says about the owner’s personality as well as which colors are the most accident prone.
Black cars denote an aggressive personality or someone who’s an outsider.
Silver cars indicate someone who’s cool, calm and slightly aloof.
Green cars are often the choice of people with hysterical tendencies.
Yellow cars signify someone who’s idealistic and novelty-loving.
Blue cars are chosen by more introspective, reflective and cautious drivers.
Gray cars represent those who are calm, sober and dedicated to their work.
Red cars denote those who are full of energy, zest and drive and who think, move and talk quickly.
Pink cars are chosen by gentle, loving and affectionate drivers.
Cream-colored cars denote self-contained and controlled drivers.
We choose our cars for many reasons, color just being one factor.
Mind pondering again. Think of the car color your friend or family drives. Does your personality match this description of your car color? My personality has changed several times, if you’re thinking of the car colors I have owned over the years. Think of it as a fun fact.
Well, who would carry a hoe in the house? Back in the day, you may have.
Never carry a hoe in the house. If you do so by mistake, carry it out again, walking backward to avoid bad luck.
It could be bad luck walking backward, so be careful with the hoe!
Enjoy the day. Be blessed.
