Warm and pleasant greetings to all.
We hope you had a happy Father’s Day with the extended weekend including Juneteenth on Monday.
May you and your loved ones be well. Our community is as well as we know. Little news as we know.
It’s dusty with tractors in nearby fields. We’ve watched several whirlwinds at a time during the warm, dry days. The rain was good for settling the dust and hydrating the gardens and flower plants.
A large tree randomly fell in a neighbor’s yard. No damage was done, no wind either. The strange noise in the middle of day was evident from the fallen tree.
Blue Cane-Cowart-Tippo water system was at low pressure for a couple of days, but residents were assured there was no need to boil water before consuming.
Last week, I was fascinated as I finished a wooden jigsaw puzzle. I love jigsaw and crossword puzzles as it’s my two favorites. I like the puzzling experience. It’s yet fascinating working and completing any puzzle.
The puzzle was a gift I much appreciated. Working with puzzles reinforces connections between brain cells and improves short-term memory. Information concerning puzzle activity states it won’t prevent dementia, but studies show it contributes to a much slower decline in memory. So, that’s good.
I was reading an article about crossword puzzles and it says crossword puzzles provide about two- to two-and-a-half years delay in memory decline compared to those who do not work crossword puzzles. I’m never without crossword puzzles. I ordered the bundle. I’m all in for whatever it’s worth.
Back to the puzzle I just completed. This puzzle is a 103-piece wooden jigsaw. No two pieces are alike, with some shaped like fish, crawfish, stars, etc. It’s the Longevity Sea Turtle, beautiful shades of basically sea blue. Putting together a puzzle is good for improving logical thinking, hand-eye coordination and giving concentration and patience, just as it said on the box! How long did it take to finish the puzzle? Well, I just worked on it as I walked by during the day.
There’s always a deep breath and a smile when the last piece fits in place. This puzzle will mount nicely on something 8x10, such as a wooden or glass container or frame. Maybe I will get it mounted, as it certainly won’t be dismantled for me to puzzle again.
Enjoy life today. Be blessed.
