Warm greetings to all. We hope you are having a good week. Things are normal in our community, as far as we know. My family enjoyed hearing from a couple of friends we often think of. And it was wonderful seeing individuals we had not seen for sometime and to know they often think of us. It was just an inspiration, each looking well and feeling good.
The Easter season is in full bloom and many will celebrate in their own traditional way.
Easter is always a sacred holiday. There are many symbols others choose to include in the celebration. The Easter egg, the Easter Bunny, Easter lamb, Easter breads, hot buns and the Easter lily are some familiar symbols.
Each symbol has its own origin. We may chance to taste some hot cross buns! Traditionally, this delicious sweet bun was served on Good Friday, the Friday prior to Easter. Good Friday marks the end of Lent season and is the day Jesus died on the cross. The sweet bun is marked with a cross to help the bread rise and as a visible sign that the bread was “blessed.”
Eat these buns like any other, slice along the width and butter inside, sandwich it back together and eat one slice at a time or you can bite the whole bun, if you prefer.
What is your favorite thing about Easter? The spirit of Easter is all about hope, love, peace, forgiveness, joyful living and the grace of Jesus Christ.

This year, the event will be held at the Charleston National Guard armory building, located just off the east end of the boulevard. Activities and events are mentioned in the American Cancer Society news column. We hope you can stop by and spend some time to enjoy some entertainment, activities and refreshments. Your participation and donations are needed and appreciated.
