Warm and pleasant greetings to all. We hope you are enjoying a good week.
The days are getting warmer, reaching summertime temps. We all like summer, and so do the mosquitoes and bees. Keep the insect repellents nearby. It’s good to keep a container near the door to spray before you enter.
It’s always tea time for me, however many like the iced tea only during the warm summer days.
I got a little excited when I saw tea bags on recall for pesticide residue. It was not the black/orange pekoe tea. It’s a recall on Yoga Echinacea brand of immune support herbal tea. However, it’s worth a notice to look before you steep. There have been quite a few product recalls, as always. We don’t always get the information at the same time, but it’s good to know the products are pulled from the shelves.
Class reunions, family reunions and friends reunions are going on this time of year, along with weddings and other gatherings. Lest we forget, what a blessed opportunity to enjoy!
We (I) pray for the love of God and His righteousness over every member and for a more loving union among families, friends and neighbors. Pray for your family daily.
Erin, Laverne Leigh’s daughter, and children Evette, Evelyn and Edward from Georgia, stopped in to see us. We were delighted to see them and to know Evelyn and Edward will be spending time with their grandmother this summer. We always like hearing each one say what’s been happening and how they enjoy family, school and extracurricular activities.
Evette just finished her first year of college. Children grow up so fast and it’s good for every opportunity they have to learn, experience and be connected with whatever leads them to a good life.
Visiting grandmother is an opportunity every summer and always on the family schedule.
June is Dairy Month. Here’s a recipe quick, simple and deliciously refreshing. You may be familiar with this one. This “frosty,” is a Wendy’s chocolate Frosty imitator. You will need one 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 8-ounce carton of Cool Whip and a half-gallon carton of chocolate milk. Stir together with a whisk, the condensed milk, Cool Whip and chocolate milk until well combined. You can mix the ingredients right into the freezer container and replace the dasher in position and freeze accordingly. Of course, you will need ice and ice cream or rock salt.
Remember to never taste rock salt. Now, if you don’t have the ice cream freezer, no excuse. You can still have your frosty. Divide the mixture into two Pyrex glass mixing bowls (plastic containers don’t do well), place in the home freezer and stir every 30-45 minutes until it is frozen to the right consistency.
Enjoy life today.
