Warm and pleasant season’s greetings to all. We hope you are enjoying a good week.
The spirit of Christmas is all around and emotions are high with expectations.
As Christmas nears, may our hearts be open to love, our minds open to His wonders, our ears open to His voice, and our lives open to His presence.
We were happy to see Rene from Texas who stopped by to see us while visiting her mother, Rose Sims. Ms. Sims celebrated her birthday Dec. 5 with her daughter from Texas. Others visiting Rose’s were a granddaughter, two great-granddaughters and six great-great-grandsons, all from Texas.
Ms. Alice Robinson enjoyed her birthday celebration at home with her husband, daughter and other young lady friends who served and enjoyed a prepared meal with beautiful flowers included. With her quiet and loving smile, Ms. Robinson expressed her gratitude and happiness in celebrating her birthday.
It was late afternoon Wednesday when residents were concerned at hearing the sounds of sirens and seeing speeding vehicles. The commotion in the Blue Cane Community was concerning a house fire.
The Wilson house was completely destroyed. Thankfully, no one was hurt or harmed. This happened a couple of hours after the road grader had completed work on the roadway. The fire trucks have to travel the most convenient and safe route due to road conditions. The fire trucks are heavily weighted with water and, therefore, need to consider the road conditions.
The First District of Tallahatchie County Association’s 5th Sunday District Services will be held at Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, on Dec. 29. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. followed by worship services at 11. Pastor J.H. Brown will deliver the message. All are invited.
Enjoy life today. Be blessed.
