Noise and motion along the wayside last week were evidence of TVA trimming trees and removing rubbish, making way for getting more technology in our rural community. That’s good news for the rural communities, to be able to have access to strong internet and Wi-Fi.

Are you expecting Santa and relatives for Christmas? You’re in for a treat. Enjoy!

We, the community, miss inviting you to special events we once were having in our community. COVID didn’t necessarily change this. Even before, our organization was dwindling. We still welcome you to our community. Any route you take getting in the community, east or west, you can continue the circles and turn and get back on Highway 32 west of 35 south. You are welcome to our community.

I was most excited to open the closet door and find the Christmas cactus in full beautiful blossoms!
Late October, I placed the flower pot in the darkness to acquire its source for making blossoms. For years, as long as I remember, this was our mother’s favorite plant for the holiday. Her cactus plant was always beautiful, year after year. Late October, she would place it in a certain closet and knew just when to expect the delight of blooms.

Christmas decorations are still ongoing. Residents in our community and elsewhere have done a beautiful job displaying the beauty for the holidays. Compliments to our neighbors for a job well done.

The beautiful greeting cards, some inspirational, cute and friendly, that we have received are much appreciated. I know you feel the same, as you read the message in each one you receive. Lest we forget those in memory; and those we honor now with loving thoughts and gifts.

Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, is the One we glorify, the greatest gift we’ll ever have.

Every time a hand reaches out to help another — that is Christmas.
Every time someone puts conflict aside and strives for understanding — that is Christmas.
Every time people forget their differences and realize their love for each other — that is Christmas.
May this Christmas bring our world closer to a spirit of caring, closer to the blessing of peace. (Copied)
