Warm and pleasant greetings to all. We hope you are enjoying a good week.
Certain days last week were pleasant with sunshine and felt warm enough for some outdoor work.
It’s time now to prune roses. You will have beautiful blossoms with the first spring showings.
I hope you are enjoying your Valentine roses for a few more days.
Last week, my conversation with a couple of friends was about cooking/food, which is one of my general topics.
What’s for dinner?
Most times .I know what’s for dinner tomorrow or what we would like and not sure for today, because it’s early yet. I still enjoy the art of cooking, but cooking is about to become a chore. The person who asked had a taste for something desired. Now, you can’t always have the desired taste at the time.
Who can comfortably wait for three-bean chili, sour cream pound cake or homemade (I now say) rolls? Why are you sitting on the couch with a spoon in your hand? Because you are thinking about the last serving of ice cream left in the carton.
Whose hand went up because you’re thinking about chicken wings in the fridge?
I’m not sure how good this is for the body as you may overeat, feeling guilty as it’s a relief at the same time. My thinking, of course, is to plan, prepare and serve. That’s the smart way, but who is trying to be so smart? If you want a chocolate bar, a piece of fried chicken, a slice of cake or even a Coke, get it as soon as you can if you have to go out or next door to get it. Eating something else trying to get the taste doesn’t do it! You really can overeat this way, too. Maybe the next cold day I will have everything ready for the three-bean chili.
Following is the American Heart Association’s answer to “What is blood pressure?”
Blood pressure is the pressure of the blood against the walls of the arteries.
Blood pressure results from two forces. One is created by the heart as it pumps blood into the arteries and through the circulatory system. The other is the force on the arteries as the heart rests between beats.
Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg).
Enjoy life today. May blessings be.
