Warm and pleasant greetings to all. We hope you are enjoying a good week.
Several days felt comfortable with some temperatures less than 100 degrees bringing cool breezes throughout the day. A few days I sensed “fall” in the summertime.
The falling leaves are rustling on the ground as if it’s autumn. There are a few more weeks of summer before fall arrives, so enjoy some more days of summer.
This is Labor Day weekend, and families and individuals are anxious to celebrate with family and friends.
Blue Cane Little Hubbard Community sends a special “welcome back home” to members and officers of the National Charleston Day Organization, in recognition of its 50th reunion. We hope you will have a memorable time and experience something new while visiting with each other, your family, friends, classmates and new acquaintances, too.
If you need anything, I’m sure you’re just a message away.
Saturday morning, Aug. 31, from 7:30 a.m. until 10 a.m., Tallahatchie County Retired Teachers (RTA) will offer a pancake breakfast at The Masonic Hall on Main Street in Charleston. The breakfast, for a $10 donation for carryout or dine-in, will benefit the RTA Scholarship Fund. If needed, make known your request to RTA President Sevelda Taylor at 662-647-7804 or 662-647-2036. Thank you for your support.
Students will enjoy Monday as a holiday. We hope students will be pleased with the progress report they are expected to bring home Tuesday.
Have a safe and most enjoyable Labor Day.
