The time has come to release the band lineup for Gateway!
We are very excited about the musical artists that will be performing this year. The Gateway team tried again this year to include many different genres of music for everyone in the community to enjoy the live music throughout the day of the festival.
We will kick off the music lineup this week with a local gospel family group. The Hankins Family Band will bring their strong vocals and passion for Christian music to the Gateway stage at noon on Oct. 14.
This group started singing in 1978, and they have traveled all over the United States performing and sharing their love of gospel music. The Hankins Family Band was started by their father when they were children, and they have continued to share his legacy through the years. They love to perform such classics as “My God is Faithful,” “There Was Jesus” and “Goodness of God.”
Kris Hankins, spokesperson for the group, shared, “Our main purpose is that when we sing, the message of our songs will find the way into the hearts of those listening.”
Aleisha Hankins, Becca Hankins and Alexis Grantham provide vocals for this gospel group, while Kris sings and also plays the piano. Stetson Hankins plays the bass guitar, and Joshua Hankins plays the drums. Jeremy Hankins plays the lead guitar and provides vocals, while Mike Hankins plays the steel guitar and sings. Aleigha Schiele Hankins completes the Hankins Family Band as their graphics and sound technician.
The Hankins Family Band is excited to share their love of gospel music with the community at the Gateway to the Delta Festival.
