I’m not even going to comment on the weather. It seems as if there are no seasons anymore. God has a plan, though, I’m sure. My poor little rose bush is so confused. It doesn’t know whether to bloom or not. It was warm long enough for me to get all the grass out of my flower beds and get them back in shape. I really enjoy working in my yard. Keith and I usually fuss over who is going to cut the grass because we both like to do it.
I was supposed to be going to the doctor to check on my mental health, but I ended up skipping my appointment for more pressing business. I plan on rescheduling though. Even though I feel pretty good right now, depression is sure to rear its ugly head again. It always does! When the other matter came up, I have to admit, I was a little relieved. It’s scary to me to think about talking to someone about “me.”
The business that I was taking care of had to do with my mother’s estate. Please, y’all, seriously think about writing a will. It makes it so much easier on your family. It doesn’t have to be something completed by a lawyer. You can write it on a piece of paper and get someone to witness it. It’s been over a year since my mother passed away and they are just now closing the estate.
Let’s talk about the celebration of life that happened at Cascilla Baptist Church this Saturday. They hosted a birthday celebration for Mrs. Daisy Brewer. Ladies don’t like to tell their age, but Mrs. Daisy celebrated her 100th birthday! The Lord has allowed her to be here with us for a long time and I’m sure that she has some stories to tell. Happy birthday, Mrs. Daisy! You have truly been blessed. I’m not sure of the attendance, but from the amount of vehicles passing by the store, the event was a success.
Mr. David Miller stopped by the store to meet me and tell me that he enjoyed my articles and informed me of the event. He also said that he planned to come by and eat at Sherry Joe’s soon and I think that I’m going to hold him to that, ha!
Speaking of Sherry Joe’s, we had a pretty good weekend. I always enjoy seeing the people of my community and catching up with what’s been going on in their life. I think I enjoy the fellowship more than anything else. If any of you are out this way on the weekends, stop by the store and see me. You don’t have to buy a thing. I’ll make us some coffee and we can get to know each other.
Don’t forget that Sherry Joe’s will be hosting a flea market, per se, on the first Saturday of every month. Anyone with anything they want to sell is welcome to come and set up a table and stay all day for free. On that day, I open the store at 8 a.m. so there will be a bathroom accessible for everyone. If you get hungry, I have food. Come join us. I really enjoyed the one in April. I hope more decide to participate. I think it will be a good thing for the community and help keep everyone involved.
If you have anything you would like to be announced in the paper out here in Cascilla, let me know and I will be happy to mention it.
Remember, the Lord is coming back, so be ready!
