With me being a senior citizen myself, I can only tell you that it has taken me a couple of months to collect all the data to accurately thank the many wonderful people and groups who have contributed to our Christmas season and beyond.
We want to thank the Charleston Day Organization, Shavon Bradley, the ECF Auxiliary, the Meek Foundation, Nell and Keith Bloodworth, the Adams and Brewer family, the Richard Case family from Houston, Texas, and the dedicated staff at Tallahatchie General Hospital and Extended Care Facility who chose residents for Christmas.
Recently, the First Presbyterian Women’s Night Circle and the Paynes WMU provided monetary gifts to assist with meeting the needs of our residents. I am sure that other Charleston residents have helped as well, and we are grateful for those of you who assist us all year long.
The ECF residents on A Wing have been creative with Valentine’s Day coming up. They have made decorative bags to hang on their doors. You can see by the photos at right that many of them overcome many difficulties to participate and the end result is meaningful to them and activity personnel.
Our residents are resilient. Recently, we have filled the dining room with the residents for bingo. We can’t tell whether it is the game or the treat that draws them, but we are always anticipating a great time at bingo. These top photo shows the crowd we had.
We have recently experienced several new cases of COVID in our personnel. We were fortunate to have only two ECF residents test positive, and they both had few problems with the virus. It would be so wonderful if this strand would also pass.
In closing, please know that all of us at Extended Care Facility are aware that we only have to mention a need and the entire Charleston community and surrounding area will respond. For this, we are extremely grateful and hope your blessing from giving feels as wonderful as your support for us feels.
