Every month at Extended Care Facility, the list of people who provide special gifts, treats and essentials for our residents is amazing. We want to thank Janice Buntin and her sister Ann for the new umbrella set you see in our popcorn picture. Ray and Dana Clolinger consistently drop by with essentials our residents may need along with puzzles and other fun items.
Please know that your attention to our residents and their needs is very meaningful. If I ever forget to include your name, please give me a call.
We had a wonderful gathering on May 30 at the B wing nurses station as we remembered the brave men and women who have died in war and service to the United States and countries around the world. We shared the Pledge of Allegiance, the hymns from all the military units and a variety of patriotic songs.
Those of us who lost relatives in war stood and told their story. We also mentioned all of our residents who served in the military. It was a glorious time of remembering that we live in the land of the free because of the brave.
After almost three years, our first church service led by a minister happened on Sunday, June 5th. Joe Brown and his wife Joyce led us in our first group church service. It was a wonderful gathering joining A and B wing residents who were able to hear Joe’s wonderful guitar as he lead hymns.
The word of God was shared and the presence of Joe’s leadership reminded all of our residents of how much we had missed gathering for a Sunday church service. We have been fortunate during May as one of our own residents lead a devotional time the entire month of May and he will now do our Sunday school for the month of June. Joe and Joyce will lead our afternoon service for the entire month of June. We want them to know we are so blessed to have them with us.
Keep coming to visit your loved ones and friends because the smiles you bring and the ones you leave behind are life changing. We love company!
