Extended Care Facility residents continue to be well. We are hearing the same news you are hearing, but the few cases of COVID did not expand in our population. We say this gratefully because of our residents and their ability to continue participating actively in our activity program.
The start of our full-time activity program on Wing A has been such a wonderful experience as you saw in last week’s article with those infectious smiles, singing and clapping. The activity staff continues adapting to our resident population on Wing A to ensure the success of our activity plans. Game shows, exercise, games that are competitive, bingo and arts and crafts, along with daily snacks, are successfully meeting the needs of our residents.
On Wing B, we have a very competitive group of men and women who seem to love the winning of each contest. They like the interaction as they try to outdo each other. We also have a group of men and women who enjoy creating works of art that represent their internal love of colors, shapes and talent.
We hope the photos you see in this week's print edition exhibit a sample of what we see daily as they come to activity. There is something remarkably re-warding to see that look of self-satisfaction when a resident wins a game, completes a puzzle or finishes an art endeavor.
Our program focuses on both wings with the enhancement of cognitive, social, verbal and physical areas of function. When activity programs challenge and stimulate these areas, each resident has an opportunity to maintain or even improve their function in these areas.
We love your visitation and are grateful for your support of our facility and the many wonderful senior citizens we serve. We are always blessed by your smiles, as we love company.
