Our Extended Care Facility Sunday afternoon church services have increased by numbers and we can feel the spirit in the air. A and B Wings are joining together to worship. We are singing hymns again, and the “Amens” are many. Sunday school at 9 a.m. is beginning to see the same increase and we are excited about our Sunday life coming back.
We want to thank the Charleston Church of God, led by Reverend Ken Watson and his wife Beverly, for committing to August. His parishioners Alan Yeager and Eddie Hargett brought a Bible study that keeps our residents connected to God’s word.
ECF residents have been well overall. For this, we are grateful. We have filled Wing B and we are working on completing Wing A. As always, we have lost some dear friends and shared moments of sorrow with their families. At ECF, the staff stands in with love, humor and tough when family can’t be here.
We had a ladies night out at Chili’s in Batesville two weeks ago, and it is embarrassing to say that we enjoyed our appetizers and meals so much that we did not take one photo. However, I can assure you that we arrived back at the facility full and happy.
As summer winds down, we hope the weather cools off so we can gather in the courtyard and feel the breeze. It is a wonderful addition to our already exceptional Extended Care Facility, swing bed unit, hospital and clinic.
Don’t forget to come and visit, bringing those smiles that make your loved one and us happy!
