This is a busy week for Extended Care Facility staff and residents as we prepare to make sure our residents have a fun, festive and interactive Christmas celebration. Administration and staff have presents for all residents which we always enjoy sharing with them. We plan to have good food, good music and an afternoon of smiles.
Recently, the 2A state champion Charleston High School football team came to ECF and made one resident as happy as anyone can be when they brought Benny Cole a personal, signed football. After all, Benny is and has been their #1 fan. That was special, Coach Taylor, and please make sure your team and school know what that meant to Benny. This activity in the photo says it all if you know Benny.
East Tallahatchie School District has been a wonderful asset to Extended Care Facility during this holiday season. As you know, bingo is our favorite activity, and the science and Beta clubs spent time on both wings playing bingo with our residents. We want to thank all of you for thinking of us.
Community people continue to contribute to our residents. Glenna Callender provided a variety of personal items and new word puzzle books. Both of these items are loved by all.
Our doors were decorated with door ornaments provided by our local Head Start center, which was organized by Eva Covington. We also were included in New Town Baptist Church’s Christmas giving as they provided personal items for our residents along with puzzle books.
Our Christmas celebrations will be next week as A Wing celebrates on Dec. 20 and B Wing on Dec. 21. We look forward to our celebrations during this holiday season.
