Here at Tallahatchie General Hospital’s Extended Care Facility, we spent the last week celebrating Black History Month!
We had the pleasure of having our A Wing CNAs and nurses put on a wonderful program for our residents. Guest speaker, Sedrick Smith, came to speak on his experience of becoming the first Black mayor in the history of the city of Charleston.
He spoke about changes he plans to continue to make to better the community around our residents. He was with Police Chief Kirby Griffin, who enjoyed the festivities alongside the company of our residents.
We also had the amazing experience of having Carvis Johnson come and recite a Martin Luther King Jr. speech for our residents. For some, it brought tears to their eyes to hear such a captivating piece from the past.
As always, we appreciate all our community does to help make occasions like this one as special as it was!
