April showers have brought us many plans for May flowers. Here at Tallahatchie General Hospital Extended Care Facility, we have been working with our physical therapy department to get our raised flower beds in our courtyard in tiptop shape.
Residents spent Monday celebrating Earth Day by planting flower and vegetable plants they hope to get to enjoy when ready! We are always so thankful for the teamwork we receive through other departments and donors of these planters here at TGH. We strive to continue to keep residents engaged in activities that we know they enjoyed so much before they came to the facility, and we know gardening was a big one for many!
Residents will be taken outside each morning to help water and tend to these plants. Please stop by and look in our courtyard to see our plants growing! Our courtyard is open to all who come visit and wish to get some fresh air with the loved ones.
We are continuing community bingo with this month seeing Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church come in every Tuesday night to share some games and laughs with our residents. The residents always love to see people in the community and we are always so excited to have them come visit!
Our residents have continued to enjoy the company of Poplar Springs Church coming in to share God’s word with them. They come in every Tuesday, faithfully, and share a wonderful message to our A Wing residents.
We were thankful to also have Trinity Holiness Church come in and do a devotional service with our residents.
If you or an organization would like to come volunteer or share a special talent you may have with our residents, our doors are always open! Please feel free to call and ask for Kim Ryals, and I will be happy to see what we can arrange.
We also would like to share a very special celebration we had this past weekend. One of our residents, Daisy Brewer, turned 101 this past Saturday! We wanted to make sure she felt celebrated with a beautiful bouquet of flowers that The Flower Basket put together for us and a card expressing our love for her!
It is times like these that we see the importance of celebrating those who have accomplished so much and those who continue to bring a smile to so many faces daily.
