Mother’s Day is always a special holiday here at Tallahatchie General Hospital Extended Care Facility!
We had a special program to honor and celebrate all of our mothers.
Our CNAs always go above and beyond every holiday, but I can say this one they went extra far to celebrate our mothers and to make them each feel so special!
We had music, poem readings, praise dancing and a time for everyone to share their special memories of their mothers, being a mother or what it means for them to be one!
During this time, we get to see and hear from our residents, their own perspective about being a mom or from our men all the memories they have of their mom!
This brings tears to many as they reflect, but, as always, we all gather around and remind each other of all the good times that we are honored to hold onto!
Roses were handed out to each resident by our activities department and we gave special awards to our oldest mothers and youngest mothers in A Wing and B Wing. Those residents who were awarded on A Wing were Cherry Ainsworth and Memori Guest. Those residents who were awarded on B Wing were Daisy Brewer and Champagne Wilson. We know that each of these mothers was grateful to be recognized with these very special awards.
As always, we hope you all will stop by and come visit us soon!
