We had our first Christmas celebration on Dec. 17 on B Wing. It was a festive occasion with great gifts, good food and lots of conversations. We really enjoyed the time together. We started our afternoon by remembering the reason for the season. We read the birth of Christ story in Luke. Many residents have said they were proud. We started our celebration with this reading and continued with good food and fellowship.
We forgot to include decoration pictures that have been done by nurses, aides and ward clerks. We wanted all of you to see that all of Extended Care Facility is festive. It takes a lot of work, and our people always want our residents to have the holiday experience throughout the year.
Residents continue to have family and friends visiting, and we feel sure that will continue throughout the holiday season. This week we will have Wing A’s Christmas party. Once again we will miss having all of you share this time with us, but we do hope you will keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
We have gotten cards from the Presbyterian Church members to distribute to all residents. The Charleston Magnolia Garden Club sent Christmas bags to several residents, which were filled with goodies.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church from Independence sent us a large amount of word find books and adult coloring books. The ladies at the Presbyterian Church continue to provide goodie baskets for ECF personnel.
We really appreciate your kindness to our residents and us. Merry Christmas to all of you in our community and surrounding areas.
