Nomination forms for the Tallahatchie County FSA committee can currently be obtained from FSA county offices.
Completed nomination forms are due back to the FSA office by Aug. 1, 2024.
This year’s election is for Local Administrative Area 2, which is the West Delta area of Tallahatchie County. Maci Flautt currently serves as the committee member from this area. Any interested producer, landowner or FSA participant that is a voter in LAA 2, is eligible to serve if they meet all eligibility requirements, the most important of which is residing in the county.
FSA county committees make decisions on things like commodity price support loans and payments; establishment of bases, yields, commodity loans; conservation programs; Livestock Assistance and ad hoc disaster programs when authorized by legislation.
A Tallahatchie COC election/nomination outreach meeting will be held in the Tallahatchie USDA Service Center located at 360 W Cypress St. in Charleston at 1 p.m. on July 22, 2024, to discuss county FSA Committee nominations and the election process with a focus on outreach to each and all persons that are a landowner or producer and eligible to vote in the 2024 committee election for Local Administrative Area 2, which includes all the west side of Tallahatchie County and the Macel/ Philipp/Sharkey areas.
