Our Auxiliary met this past week at our building in Teasdale for our regular monthly meeting, which was called to order by president Virginia Murphree. Our devotion was given by Wanda Ivy.
This devotion was centered around the scripture in Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.” In life we face many things that we do not think we can handle; they are just too hard for us. But we are told here that with the help of Christ, we can do all things that will help us in our lives.
One problem we all have is that we sometimes take on things to handle that we are not expected to do. One of the things I remember from school is when we said “I can’t,” and someone would say “Can’t never could do anything.” That is true to some extent. We do get ourselves into positions that we cannot handle sometimes.
One of the things that will help more than anything is to believe in ourselves. We must believe in ourselves in order to start and then believe that Christ will help us accomplish it. Too many of us give up before we get started, but Christ tells us that we can do anything we need to do if we will just depend on him. We need to have the attitude that we will do our best and know that the angels in heaven can do no better.
Our fruit baskets went to Patty and Jimmy Rowland, Wade Myers and Anna Crawford with our prayers and best wishes.
Then Virginia brought up the fact that leaks had been found in the building roof and doors. She had called Daniel Pittman, our professional handyman, and he had it evaluated and it will be repaired.
We would also like to thank all who helped in our recent bake sale. We were able to help three families through this event.
Bobbie Kennedy and Pam Pipkin served our delicious refreshments, which were enjoyed by all.
