The annual Tillatoba Baptist Church Easter Egg Hunt was held at Mark, Faye and Kristie Hartley’s farm. It was reported that about 50 people were there. Hamburgers, hot dogs and all the trimmings were served. They had the Easter story and had a great egg hunt. The kids look forward to this every year and they always have a great time! I know I went one year and it was hard for me to get up and down off of the trailer and do all that walking, but I had a great time and they even had a place for us older folks to hunt eggs.
Gloria Hoop Marceleno said it has been a long time since both her children have been together at the same time. She was a happy mom and had a fantastic visit last week when daughter Carley Little and Josh Davila, and son Joseph Little and her new daughter in love Jessie Pascarelli came for a visit. The weather wasn’t the best, but they had a great visit and a safe trip back to Texas. They also got to visit their grandparents, Carl and Mildred Kendall. That was a birthday gift for their grandmother, Mildred. Her birthday was Friday, the 7th, and they all went to Oxford that Thursday for an early celebration.
Wanda Crawford had a bad day Easter. Said she sat in her chair nursing a bulging disk. Barely got out of bed. She, along with a lot of others, would like to meet the one who coined the term that being elderly is the best time of your life. If you consider spending a lot of time visiting good-looking intelligent men (doctors), then I guess it is the best time of my life!
Ginger Harrison said they had a blessed, full Easter Sunday. They really enjoyed the Easter service at Pine Grove. Their sons, Jake and Josh Harrison, sang specials. Both did great! Ginger said they had a fabulous meal at her moma’s, Martha Box, with all of Martha’s children and grands there including her sister, Joyce Stevens, and friends Diane Hill and Linda Harrison. It was a great day!
Keith Beck’s birthday was Sunday and he hit the big 60. Darlene Moorman, his mom, said she bought him a big taco lunch and he really enjoyed it. Darlene has a clinic appointment Tuesday.
Our dinner guests Sunday were Donna Garripoli and Summer and Miranda Procella from Grenada. Summer left Memphis at 4:30 a.m. Monday to fly to Astoria, Oregon, where she will be the lead line cook on the American Cruise Lines ship named American Song. Let me tell you, she is a great cook. David and I enjoyed a delicious hamburger meal with them in Grenada Friday. Those girls can cook a mean hamburger!
Sheryn Goode said she spent Easter day alone. Her angel friend, Martha Box, sent her a plate with enough food on it to feed an army. “Don’t know what I would do without that lady,” Sheryn said. Martha is a sweetheart, Sheryn, and, I know firsthand, a very good cook!
Eugene and Peggy Bailey had a good Easter with some of their family there. Their Tennessee boys couldn’t make it. Pray for this family as Peggy heals from a stroke.
Happy birthday to Paul Barton and Liz Brannon Trotter on the 10th; Betty Neal, Dot Arnold Champion and John Dukes on the 13th; Malinda Martin on the 16th; my son, Tim Sullivan, and Julie Kerr and Ginny Sosebee, who share a birthday on the 17th; Jackie Griffis on the 18th; Priscilla Mitchell on the 19th; and Mickey Reeves on the 20th. May you all have a great day of celebrating.
My neighbor, JR Dukes, did excellent in the fishing competition this weekend. He was first place boat captain and Brayden Smith got first place and lunker on Enid Lake. Always a good time being on the water, even in the cold pouring rain, says JR.

Thought for the day: It’s not the outlook but the uplook that counts. Who do you look up to?
