Erika Anderson and son Kaleb spent Friday night with her mother, Daisy Isbell, for Mother’s Day! She did Daisy’s nails and they ate popcorn and watched a movie. Sounds like fun!
Tuesday, Festus, Ruth Jane and Amanda Hailey visited Peggy and Eugene Bailey. Mike and Rhonda Hailey of Houston visited his brother, Festus, Ruth Jane and Amanda Hailey Friday. They all went to Batesville and ate at Cracker Barrel. Saturday, Festus, Ruth Jane and Amanda went to the Yalo-Ribbon Festival at Oakland.
Gloria Marceleno went to town Saturday and had a great time. She took her mom, Mildred Kendall, out to eat Sunday. Gloria’s son, Joseph Little called and her daughter, Carley, texted them and she called also.
Joyce Stephens’ granddaughter, Kayla Martin Carter, made some beautiful cupcakes decorated with icing that looked like different flowers! I even texted Joyce, thinking they were Mother’s Day flowers and telling her how beautiful they are.
Don and Jackie Bowman are so proud of their grandsons, Weston and Jack. Weston graduated from K-3 Thursday morning, and Jack graduated from kindergarten Thursday night. They also had a sweet little niece, Audrey Eskridge, to graduate Thursday night.
Mclendon Hartley had kindergarten graduation Monday night at North Delta school. Congratulations, sweet girl! Also, congratulations to Landon Hillhouse, another kindergarten graduate from Tillatoba.
Such a proud mama was Sandy Sturdivant when she and husband, Harvey, went to her son Joseph Bozone’s graduation at New Orleans Baptist Seminary. Joseph graduated with a master’s degree in theology. Congratulations, Joseph!
Nathan and Kristie Hartley cooked Mother’s Day supper for their sweet momma, Faye Hartley. Those attending were Mark, Rowland, Mary Brett, Mclendon and Steve Ramage.
Faye and Kristie went to Pensacola for a few days. They left Sunday and came back Wednesday. Faye said, “We had a blast getting away!” The next time they go, I’m gonna hide in their suitcase.
Martha Box said she took the week off resting her bad foot. She reported a great graduation of grandson Josh Harrison Friday and said how proud she is of him and all his class! Martha had lunch in Batesville Saturday with her sister, Joyce Stevens. They enjoyed walking the downtown festival first. Martha’s sweet son-in-law, Phil Harrison, and Jake came over, cut her grass and weeded those million weeds. Martha also had a wonderful Mother's Day! Josh drove her over to his church, where a great loving message by Bro. Scarborough was heard. After church, she visited with daughter Ginger, Phil, Jake and Josh and Aunt Linda at Diane Hill’s house. There was wonderful food (that she did not cook). Among the four mothers, Martha said she feels the most spoiled, fed and loved.
Little Hallie Bren DeLoach was honored with her first birthday party, and boy did she have a nice party! Happy first birthday, Hallie!
Saturday morning, Deborah McCool went to Pontotoc and Batesville with daughter Angela Dukes and granddaughter Allison. They had a wonderful time. They went to daddy's, Ray Bell’s, and spent the afternoon with him. Sunday after church, they had a cookout at Ray’s with Angela and Kimberly Beavers and family, Michael Merrill and his family. Deborah said it was a little hard being first Mother's Day since her sister, Patsy Merrill, passed away.
Last Thursday, Deborah said they went to Senatobia for their grandson's high school graduation. Hayden, the youngest son of their son, Christopher, was graduating and his oldest son, Hunter, was graduating at Ole Miss. On Saturday, they headed to Cancun. Hunter is getting married to the sweetest girl, Olivia Jones. Deborah said, “Tommy refuses to fly so we aren't going but there will be lots of pictures.”
Sadie Harper has a new great-granddaughter, Stella Layne Daniel, born May 12 at 6 pounds, 4 ounces, and measuring 20 inches long to Jennifer and Mark Daniel. This makes 12 grands for Sheila O’Bryant, and 15 great-grands for Sadie and Milton.
Darlene Moorman had a procedure which consisted of two injections instead of one in her back May 8. Says she will never have another one of those, because she could hardly get around for a week and all of a sudden, she said, “I was flying Jesse around here, cleaning my house, working in my yard and I haven’t stopped yet.” She did say she made herself take a break. “All of this time earlier, I was praying also, so I just think the Good Lord touched me, and that is why I got better so fast. You know truly I am a Pentecostal Christian.”
Sheryn Goode’s daughter, Dana Huffman, and grandson, Devon Huffman, came Sunday and brought lunch and all kinds of sweets. They ate there because Sheryl’s leg messed up and she can hardly walk. They also brought things for the graves at the cemetery.
Well, we are winding down on all the Josh celebrations, said his mother, Ginger Harrison. “It’s been a fun few weeks! He graduated Friday night. We are very proud of him. He worked hard to finish with all A’s. We spent Sunday celebrating Mother’s Day at my mother-in-law’s, Diane Hills, with my Moma, Martha Box. and Linda Harrison. Diane worked very hard and served us a very good meal.”
Happy birthday to my sweet friend, Liz McKinney, on the 20th; to my grandson, Junior Dukes, on the 22nd; to Marilyn Barton the 22nd also; to Lisa Chambers and Caleb Franklin, who celebrate the 23rd. May you all have a great day celebrating!
