OAKLAND — As a part of the Oct. 7 “TruckApalooza Oakland” fundraiser benefitting the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department, more than 50 pieces of the Carol Denman art collection will be sold.
The Denman family has donated the collection, which includes an amazing array of art — from modern oils to bucolic pastels.
The event will be held in downtown Oakland from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and continues a year of celebration and activities connected to Oakland’s incorporation 175 years ago.
TruckApalooza Oakland brings fire engines and big trucks, ambulances and bulldozers, and more together to allow kids of all ages to explore and enjoy. A Kids Zone will add to the fun.
The morning will kick off with the grand entrance of fire trucks rolling through the town accompanied by TikTok star Brewski, a British Labra-dor retriever that plays golf, drives a lawn mower, fishes and picks fruit and vegetables from the garden. His human, Chance Crawford of Houston, Mississippi, is now training Brewski to sound the fire truck sirens for his debut in Oakland.
Brewski has amassed a growing following on TikTok, with more than 4.5 million views of his fishing video and more than 8 million views of the golfing video. Crawford continues to train Brewski on new tricks and Brewski will be showing off his signature moves and more during the TruckApalooza. Brewski and Crawford are @heytakeachance on TikTok.
Event organizers are also inviting food trucks, arts and crafts vendors and trucks, helicopters, ambulances, school buses and more to sign up. In addition, the Oakland Area Chamber of Commerce will be offering raffle tickets on an assortment of products donated for the event. A bake sale will be a part of the day.
There will be special activities for kids throughout the day. Attendees will also learn how to become a volunteer firefighter.
