Members of the local American Cancer Society Rally for a Cure board thank the donors who assisted in our recent Rally. It is because of this event and you that we are able to help in the fight against cancer.
We still have T-shirts and hats for sale at $20 each.
Again, thanks to everyone who participated in and supported our Rally fundraiser drive. I am pleased to announce that so far, the fundraiser has brought in $8,506. These funds will help our community and cancer researchers to continue the fight for a cure. We all know that cancer never sleeps.
We would like to apologize to the Charleston Lions Club for a misstatement in this column on Sept. 2. It was the Lions Club who cooked our hamburgers and hot dogs for the Rally. They have been doing it for 40-plus years.
We will have a booth set up at the Gateway to the Delta Festival, so please come by our booth and donate. These funds enable us to donate for cancer research as well as help members of our community who have cancer get to the doctor, buy medicine and buy supplies.
We are still asking those that haven’t donated, please do.
