The Birdia Keglar Legacy will award its annual scholarship this year during the June 1 local holiday community celebration.
The scholarship is available to female students of Charleston High School and West Tallahatchie High School. The applicant must be a graduating senior or currently enrolled at an institution of higher learning.
An application packet including personal information, name of school applied to or currently attending and in good standing, transcript, ACT/SAT scores, GPA calculations, two reference letters (one from counselor, academic advisor, principal or teacher and one from a community representative) and a 500-word essay on “How I embody the spirit of Mrs. Birdia Keglar through community service and activism” must be postmarked by May 1 and mailed to Birdia Keglar Legacy Scholarship Committee, Post Office Box 222, Charleston, MS 38921
