OAKLAND — Local author Erin Roach will be guest speaker at the Oakland Public Library on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m.
She will be sharing from her new book, “Ira Wakely, Murderous Admiration.”
Roach stated, “The Ira Wakely Mysteries are written in the more vintage style, like what was common in the 1930s. This time period was always appealing because the detective had to use his wits to solve the mystery. There was very little by way of forensics at that time which made the job harder but also more interesting for the reader to solve. Ira is a mystery within a mystery, and as the books go on, more and more of him and his strange past is revealed.”
