OAKLAND — Oakland’s Giant Cake Walk will be the frosting on the cake of the annual Yalo-Ribbon Festival, to be held in downtown Oakland on Saturday, May 13.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with craft vendors, food trucks, live music, a railroad trackside event and the cake walk.
“We anticipate more than 40 cakes provided by the town’s churches and individual bakers,” said Margaret Ross, the chair of the cake requisition committee. “The bakers in town are excited to help out with homemade desserts for the cake walk.”
The Giant Cake Walk will start at 1:30 p.m. and consist of five rounds. Tickets are available on-site at the Oakland Area Chamber of Commerce booth. Tickets are $5 per walk or $20 for the five rounds of the cake walk. Tickets must be purchased by 1:15 p.m.
