OAKLAND — TruckApalooza in Oakland is Saturday, Oct. 5 and benefits the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department.
The event starts at 10 a.m. in downtown Oakland (Hickory and Oak streets) and runs until 2 p.m. with food, big trucks of all kinds, motorcycles, kids’ zone and vendors.
TruckApalooza allows kids of all ages to explore and enjoy a variety of trucks, cars and other motorized vehicles.
A special feature this year adds Slingshots to the lineup.
A Kids Zone featuring a free bounce house, and games will keep the fun going. This year’s event also adds a dunking booth and hayride.
Food trucks and arts and crafts vendors are part of the day. In addition, a bake sale will be staffed by the chamber, with all sales benefitting the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department.
There will be special activities for kids throughout the day. Attendees will also learn how to become a volunteer firefighter. A corn hole tournament is on the agenda and the winner has bragging rights for a full year.
