Bingo returns to CARE center
Bingo will return to CARE on Friday, Nov. 15, featuring a night filled with fun, food and prizes. The first bingo game begins at 5:30 p.m. There is no charge for this crazy fun night, but you must bring a “white elephant” gift, which must be wrapped or in a bag. There is no need to buy anything; just bring something that you already have.

Shoebox collections scheduled
National collection week for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child will be Nov. 18-25, and Charleston First Baptist Church will be one of the drop-off sites.
The church will collect shoebox items on the following schedule:
• Thursday, Nov. 21, through Saturday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
• Sunday, Nov. 24, from 1-3 p.m.
• Monday, Nov. 25, from 8-10 a.m.

History of Yalobusha news offered
On Thursday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m., David Howell, editor and publisher of The North Mississippi Herald in Water Valley, will explore the history of newspaper publishing in Yalobusha County during a meeting of the Yalobusha Historical Society. Locopolis sets three-night revival

Teasdale bake sale benefits facility
On Saturday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. until, the Teasdale Ladies Auxiliary and the Teasdale Quilters will sponsor a bake sale at the Teasdale Auxiliary Building, just in time for Thanksgiving. All proceeds will go to the Teasdale building fund for upkeep.

Charleston Christmas parade set
The Charleston Christmas parade will be Saturday, Dec. 14. The theme is “An Olympic Christmas: A Christmas of Many Nations.” Decorate according to Christmas symbolism or customs of nations around the world.
Lineup is at 3 p.m. adjacent to the former National Guard armory. Floats will be judged at 4:30 p.m., and the parade will start at 5.

The Extended Care Auxiliary will again collect holiday donations for residents. Items requested for men and women are body lotion, body spray, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, five-blade razors and hand lotion.
