Charleston native Percy Townes is playing a role in distribution of a new UFO documentary film entitled “Ariel Phenomenon.”
“We have successfully completed three screenings in Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C., with Regal Cinemas in which I played a vital role in setting up the screenings,” Townes told The Sun-Sentinel in an email.
He said a screening deal has been inked with Malco Theatres Inc., which, hopefully, will bring the movie to the Mississippi Delta.
Townes said screenings at Malco locations are scheduled for July 18.
Ariel Phenomenon is a documentary that explores a 1994 extraterrestrial encounter in the south African country of Zimbabwe. More than 60 schoolchildren reported seeing an unidentified craft land outside their Ariel School.
“I’m just ecstatic to be a part of this film because it touches the heart and will open the minds of all of humanity around the world,” said Townes, who is helping to coordinate screenings, along with other roles.
