Members of the East Tallahatchie Attendance Center (ETAC) Class of 1971 and guests celebrated their 54th high school reunion in Nashville from Friday, Oct. 10, through Monday, Oct. 13.
A total of 27 current and former Charlestonians enjoyed touring downtown Nashville, dining at the famous Aquarium Seafood Restaurant which contained a wide variety of fish, sharks and stingrays in a 200,000-gallon tank, and experiencing the National African American Music Museum which celebrates the many music genres created, influenced and inspired by African Americans.
Highlights of this museum visit included an interactive green screen that allowed us to sing a song with the legendary Bobby Jones and Nashville Super Choir and to make an interactive dance video where we learned different dance moves from the decades.
After leaving the National African American Music Museum, we spent time at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, where we saw replicas of Beyonce, Taylor Swift, B.B King, Sir Elton John, James Brown, Whitney Houston and many others.
On Saturday night, we had an amazing dining and entertainment experience aboard the General Jackson Riverboat along the beautiful Cumberland River.
The ETAC Class of 1971 will soon start planning our next reunion adventure, so stay tuned. All are welcome to join us.
