The Enid and Teasdale volunteer fire departments will be installing free smoke alarms for residents in the Enid, Teasdale and Paducah Wells Road areas beginning Feb. 1, according to Teasdale assistant chief Jason Hedrick.
Applications must be filled out in order to get on the installation schedule. No smoke alarms will be given for self-installation. A firefighter will contact applicants for installation scheduling.
Interested persons may sign up for the alarms in person at the Teasdale fire station on the following dates:
• Friday, Jan. 17, 5-7 p.m.
• Saturday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Friday, Jan. 24, 5-7 p.m.
• Saturday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At the time of smoke alarm installation, firefighters will also provide a fire safety inspection and help with a fire escape plan for your home.
